As in the past several years, the Pine River Sports Association will be hosting regular training classes for any young people interested in learning about Air Rifle shooting and competition. The classes are open to any and all young people from ages 12 thru 18. You do not need to have any experience. Because of limited instructors and in order to assure personal instruction, class size is limited.
The classes will be held every Thursday evening from 3:30pm to 7:00pm at the PRSA Indoor Range located at 1535 N Cedar Street in Richland Center, Wisconsin. The classes will begin on October 17th, 2019 and continue through 30 April 2020.
The instructor will be Darrel Tennent. Darrel has many years of experience working with young people and training them in the safe and proper use of firearms as well as the marksmanship aspect of shooting.
Classes will cover Air Rifle safety, the proper use of the Sporter Air Rifle, as well as instruction in marksmanship. You may provide your own air rifle or Club guns will be available for those who wish to participate but do not have their own. Safety glasses, shooting mats, pellets, targets and other accessories will be provided. The students may bring their own safety glasses, shooting mats and other accessories if they have them.
The cost for this program will be $10.00 per participant – which will cover the use of equipment, as necessary, targets, pellets and other materials.
As the training progresses the students will be given the opportunity to participate in the American Legion postal matches, and other shooting competitions.
If any young people, or their parents, are interested in participating in this training please contact Darrel Tennent at 608-475-7675 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also come to the PRSA indoor range on Thursday October 17th, 2019 from 3:30 to 7:00pm to sign up. Those under 18 will require their parents permission to participate.
This has been a well received program in past years and has produced several State Air Rifle Champions. Several students have also gone on to compete in National Air Rifle competition.
