Sign up will be on Jan. 21st from 4 – 5:30 pm for all disciplines. Would like to have the safety sessions the following week. Practice will begin on February 4th and run through the last week of April. 4-H only practice for our county shoot will run in May. Dates to be determined yet.
BB Gun is open to kids ages 8 – 18, We use the Daisy 499 BB Gun only.
Air Rifle is open to kids ages 8 – 1st year out of high school. although starting age varies with each individual’s abilities. (ie: the coach will determine if they are able to handle the air rifle and its equipment safely) We do provide equipment but members can purchase their equipment as well. I can also order equipment through Daisy for a reduced price. Open to 4-H and non-4-H members.
.22 Rifle is open to kids ages 12 – 1st year out of high school and have to have competed a hunters safety provide AND provide their DNR customer number to me. Also open to 4H and non-4-H members.
The 4H program is open to Richland County and other surrounding counties as well.
We are called the Richland Youth Shooting Sports Program or RYSS.
We will need a weekend in May for our Richland County 4-H Shoot, and an undetermined date for a RYSS Invite.
Coaches for all disciplines are: Jerry and Mary Cooper, Mel Cook, Darrel Tennant and Kris Malphy.
