About the Pine River Sports Association

The purpose and object of this organization shall be to foster and encourage the shooting sports among citizens in our community. This is to include instruction and training in the safe handling and proper care of firearms, improved marksmanship & competition and the characteristics of honesty, good fellowship, self-discipline, team play, self-reliance and good sportsmanship, which is the foundation of true patriotism and good citizenship.

The Pine River Sports Association (hereinafter referred to as PRSA) is affiliated with the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) and Wisconsin Firearms Owners, Ranges, Clubs & Educators (Wisconsin FORCE).

We are located at 1535 N Cedar Street in Richland Center, WI. Our mailing address is P.O. Box 302, Richland Center, WI  53581

We are a private, members only club. The PRSA owns a 50 foot, 9 point, indoor firing range, with electric target retrievers. All members are allowed to use the facility at any time, unless functions or events are scheduled. Members are allowed to bring guests to use the facility but are responsible for their conduct. We offer “Open Shooting”, at predesignated times, when the general public is allowed to utilize the facility. A range safety officer must be present during those times.  We regret to announce – Because of limited times available and Range Safety Officer’s workloads, “Open Shooting” for the general public is deferred until such time RSO’s are available and range time becomes available.

There are restrictions on the use of certain firearms and ammunition within the facility.
The indoor shooting range is limited to .22 rimfire rifles. The use of centerfire rifles is not allowed. Rimfire and centerfire handguns may be used, however their caliber, power and velocity must not exceed that of a .45 ACP using conventional commercial or military ball ammunition. Use of handgun ammunition, considered or labeled “magnum” by their manufacturer, is prohibited. Centerfire Rifles and Shotguns may not be fired in the facility. Use of any armor piercing, tracer, explosive or incendiary ammunition in prohibited. Use of any steel or reactive type target is prohibited.
