The Pine River Sports Association will be once again hosting our .22 Rimfire Light Rifle & Squirrel Gun shoots.
Where: Pine River Sports Indoor Shooting Range – 1535 N Cedar, Richland Center, Wisconsin
When: The 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month – beginning December 6th, 2020 continuing through April 18th, 2021.
Time: From approximately 6:00pm to approximately 10:00pm
Cost: $3.00/hr for Members, $6.00/hr for non-members.
You do not need to be a member of the Pine River Sports Association. These shoots are open to any and all who might enjoy a fun evening of shooting during the coming cold winter nights – in a nice warm indoor shooting range. If you are interested – there is no sign up, etc. – just show up on any 1st or 3rd Sunday after 6:00pm. The range is handicapped accessible.
Bring your standard .22 rimfire rifle and ammunition (no magnums please) and join in. Any safe, standard .22 rimfire rifle, with any sight is acceptable, you do not need a competition type rifle. Safety glasses and hearing protectors are required – even a .22 rimfire sounds loud when several are firing at once. There are no other requirements or restrictions other than the rifle must be safe to shoot. Targets will be available. These are fun shoots for bragging rights only. Competition is not a part of these shoots – it is meant for fun only, but you may compete with others as you see fit. You may join in as many or few of the evenings as you would like – you do not need to attend every shoot. How long you shoot each evening is up to you.
If this sounds like something you may enjoy….come to the range.
As in the past several years, the Pine River Sports Association will be hosting regular training classes for any young people interested in learning about Air Rifle shooting and competition. The classes are open to any and all young people from ages 12 thru 18. You do not need to have any experience. Because of limited instructors and in order to assure personal instruction, class size is limited.
The classes will be held every Thursday evening from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the PRSA Indoor Range located at 1535 N Cedar Street in Richland Center, Wisconsin. The classes will begin on November 5th, 2020 and continue through April 29th, 2021.
Richland Center will once again participate in the Southern Wisconsin Rifle League. This is a Smallbore Rifle League which includes teams from Richland Center, Black Earth, Green County and Darlington Wisconsin.
The team captain/contact for Richland Center is Darrel Tennant. If you have questions or would like to participate, in this league please contact Darrel at 608-475-7675 or firstname.lastname@example.org. The league will begin on the week of November 29th, 2020. The PRSA indoor range is reserved for team practice and match shooting every Monday evening from approximately 6:00pm to 9:00pm. If you plan to use the range or hold an event – be aware that the Richland Center smallbore team has priority during that date/time period.
Due to the COVID pandemic all matches for the 2020-2021 season will be Postal Matches. All teams will shoot at their home ranges and turn in scores to the League Secretary, Karl Hirsbrunner, 608-604-2057.
A Mid-Winter match is tentatively scheduled for February 20th, 2021. This match will be held at the Richland Center range if COVID issues permit. Further updates regarding the Mid-Winter match will be posted.
